Kudos to us Girls!

I was reading an article on an old 1940`s magazine. Well, it was Good Housekeeping Magazine and it was more like a soap opera written for the magazine. I am sure it was supposed to be somewhat risque for the times, but I did not find it that way.
In any case, I found it absolutely appalling that the male character, when sitting at a restaurant, wanted to order for the leading lady. GASP! Apparently it was the norm, and little me being part of the Sesame Street Generation- don`t Mapquest it, you won`t find it- was not even aware of this. I remember reading about The Suffragettes in school, and how women couldn`t vote, yet their power moved politicians to change laws and hear our cause. We have broken stereotypes, joined work careers geared towards men and empowered our daughters to be independent.
We often don`t remember how good it is to unite and bond. Some women fear, envy and maliciously gossip about other women just out sheer insecurity. In my view, mediocrity criticizes excellence. Those who do that, see what they admire in others and hate those who have it. When a woman is outspoken and commands authority, she is called her a five letter word that starts with a B. When she is outspoken and commands authority, yet she is still kind, nurturing and personable, we call her Oprah.
I have only once felt discriminated against for being a woman. Oddly enough I was talking to a cop. In any case, I feel lucky to live in an era where my opinion caries weight, I can work, I can own a business, I have power. To those of us who find the time to super mom, super wife, super sister, super diva, super friend and super entrepreneur enjoy my favorite girly anthem… All women unite!!!

I really take great pleasure to introduce these fine businesses to you.
?First on the Hip N Chic Brag Book is Orleans Couture. This vivacious southern belle is both stylish and elegant. Her couture items -pronounced có-ture- derived a style from beautiful the beautiful French Garden district in New Orleans. Her haute sophisticated items are a must for any girl who ever considered herself a trend setter.
Because of the intricate amount of detail and work derived from my old vintage French wrought iron books, an approximate total of 7 twelve hour days were need to research and make all the intricate detailing. In her own words; “This site is precious.” I need not say more.
?Next in it`s Sugar Sugar Bags. A purse designer who wanted to package her creations as if there were candy. They are sweetly named after desserts and her own children, Michelle Estrada takes great pride in her creations and her new designs showcases it flawlessly.
Taking inspiration from French pastry shops, we created counters, displays and packaging that complements her couture creations, making them a sweet treat to receive. I already got mine and it was just delicious!
?Natalie Paris Designs is one of my star clients as her beautiful flower clips and exquisite packaging has landed her a coveted spot among the sophisticated Nordstrom vendors. After taking in references from my 1950`s french MODES &TRAVAUX magazine along with a lot of pictures of a couple who vacationed in Paris in 1948. The light post on her illustration are exactly as they are in Paris!
She is so pleased with her site and happy with her venture she bought a store front and has hired me a second time for another site! Woo hoo!
