Can you hide anything these days? From Forensic Computer Scientist who can find the email you wrote three years ago, to lie detection test-I don`t care what you think, you can only beat them if you believe your own lies-, graphologists can do the same with handwriting analysis.

Widely used in France and through out Europe, applicants provide writing samples and from these, a decision is made on whether or not this person is qualified. Read more

Epitome of Originality

Fashion fades, but style is eternal.- Alex Canel

I recently visited a cake`s designer website after a client had mentioned she is her friend. I was so moved by her work and originality, I had to talk to her. This woman was in the middle of her process humbly rolling out fondant. I have rolled out fondant before and it`s not easy.

This woman, draws inspiration from real life. She followed very little trends. Her fondant designs sometimes are closer to furniture than cake. Yet, that is what made her original. Read more

The Girly Craze-Giving Brand it to Your Angle

May 14, 2008 by elaineb · Leave a Comment

After doing some mindless browsing on the web, I could not help but notice all the new web designers out there. I also could not help but notice how girly and hip and chic they all are or at least claim to be.
Is like we all just discovered the toilet paper and how wonderful an invention it is, so we are all trying to market with different angles. Pink toilet paper, Toilet paper with sparkles, toilet paper with cute print on it, with pink skulls, pink poodles… arrgg!!!
Ok so I did this to prove a point. One item or service can be marketed in all different ways, even in one genre-girly. It only hurts the others when the same colors or concepts are used. It dilutes the branding. Same goes with names.
Oddly enough, you could have Nemo`s Pizza and Tony`s Pizza using the same colors and everyone would know the difference. On the web, visuals are everything and would in fact dilute branding. Having two that share the same name or look can really hurt the one that was here first.

I realize some similarities are coincidental, but once you are aware, the best thing to do is to remain as original as possible. Protecting your brand is the game, being original wins it.
