Retrospective on Saturday
June 14, 2008 by elaineb
Last Friday, I was working my way to NYC and I had but one worry, to be in the right train. I NEVER took the wrong train. Everything was perfect!! Although the week before was a trying one, it made my trip to NYC an escape and much needed respite.
Of course, we all second guess ourselves and I was no exception. I just really felt there was no reason for me to go. Then Tut send this,
There’s a reason you chose earth, Elaine, exactly when you did, being exactly who you are, with those already in your life, and those who soon will be: to be an example, to shine your light, and to give hope.
Yeah, you were needed, elaine, super bad.
Kind of obvious now, huh?
The Universe
Not to be confused with the cinematic masterpiece, Superbad!, Elaine, though close.
Have you seen Superbad? I did. The kid that gets a really bad fake i.d. to buy beer and other spirits for a party. When the liquor store gets robbed just seconds after clearing his purchase, he gets assaulted by the robber and had to file a report. The cops who take his statement, like him so much that they take him for a night of fun and he has the night of his life as McLoving. In the end, the cops knew he was underage and let him off the hook.
I felt little like Mr. Mcloving. While I am not “a fake”, I did feel I had to prove something, I just wasn`t sure of what that was. Once I got there, I forgot of what I had to prove, and it really didn`t matter, I was McLOVED!
I have chosen to do away with Gratitude Friday, as I always have this fear that I have forgotten someone. I am, however, thankful to Ruta Fox for having me in her home. Jessica Waschman and Nancy Spruiell for meeting me. It was divine!
Love,
Elaine
