Gratitude Friday and a Tag

May 2, 2008 by elaineb · 4 Comments

Again I have been handed baskets full great things this week. Monday through Wednesday I was pretty hazy-I think it was the cough drops!
Tag You’re It!

I’ve been tagged by Wendy at Gwendolyn`s Gate.

Here are six quirky things about me!

  • ?I sing in the shower. Very well mind you! Yesterday I was signing I still believe by Mariah Carey
  • ?I would rather watch a cow boy, ninja or Godfather movie than a romantic movie. I have to be in the mood!
  • ?My Ipod is cataloged by mood. My moods are Happy, Sad,Energy/Exercise, Angst, Romantic and Get the kids to the sitter NOW!
  • ?I like going to bed with wet hair. I have flat Asian/Latin hair and when I do that, my hair has body and lift. When I was 14 I told my science teacher to try it, and her hair was gorgeous the next day.
  • ?I have really good reflexes. If I walk by something and it starts to fall I can catch it in mid air. I guess that`s why I love Tennis.
  • ?When I was 8 years old, I saw the Empire Strikes Back and I wanted to marry Mark Hamill. Some of the men I have dated have blue eyes and blond hair or jet back hair. Shayne has blue eyes and blond hair. Thanks Luke Skywalker!

Tag you are it!

  1. The Make up Divas
  2. Fabulously Jinxed
  3. Beauty By Kimmy
  4. Sweet Boutique Design
  5. A whimsy World`s Susie Mac
  6. Risque Chic

Now that you have been tagged you must do the same. Now for the thankies!

  • To everyone who helped me and wished me well when I was sick. Thank you so much!
  • Zolton at E Minor, thank you so much for featuring me!
  • Morgan,Thanks for the pimpin`!
  • To my clients for being so patient!
  • To you, thank you for reading my blog! Hope it keeps you coming back. I love that shirt! ;)

Lots of love,

Lost in E Minor Feature

April 30, 2008 by elaineb · Leave a Comment

I am so happy that I have featured at Lost at E Minor.com. Lost in E Minor has featured some of the most distinguished and cutting edge artist in fashion, film, music and design. They have featured designers, musicians and illustrators like Mark Ryden, Cold War Kids and THE one and only Paris Fashion Week.

I am humbled, thankful and honored to have been featured. There is a voting feature there and if you vote for me, my article gets bumped at the top of the page. You totally don`t have to, but it is appreciated. I rather celebrate my joy with you and share with you that my dear friend Paulette pushed me to do it (I love you Paulette, you rock!) and Morgan Mckean dressed me up for success and submitted my info. If you are going to hire someone, she is the gal for you.

Lots of love,
Elaine
P.S. Uncle Bronchitis is finally moving out. Cousin NQuill has been sleeping over! :D

Oh my gosh!!!! I was selected!!!!

November 28, 2007 by elaineb · 5 Comments

I can`t even type this!!! I was selected, handpicked to appear in a new book by fuelmyblog.com called The Human Behind The Avatar. I am so incredibly honored that they chose me to appear.

“The book is to show that us bloggers are real people. There have been too many cases of people receiving nasty threats on their blogs and we believe it is so easy to forget that behind our views and opinions and the avatar we have all over the internet, behind that, we are human. We think that by taking a picture of ourselves behind our avatar, it keeps our identity safe but at the same time shows we are real. 15 % of the sales of the book will be donated to Doctors Without Borders/ Medicins Sans Frontiers. The book is being produced by Blurb, a great website that allows people like us to produce bookstore quality books. We have a deadline which will be the end of November, this allows for shipping in time for Christmas.” I feel the same about the ladies I work with.

Each has been criticized by those who love them and even talked out of their work at home choice at some point or another. Other women are jealous of their creations or tenacity to go on with an idea, product or service they believe in.

Many have been the times I have chosen to give up what I love because of a stupid comment or a bad experience. As long as I love this, I will be here.
XOXO,
Elaine Biss
